Sukut’s Sarah Scherzinger and Yevgenya Koch Featured in SCCA and UCON Magazines, Highlighting Women in Construction

Sukut Construction is proud to recognize two of its team members, Sarah Scherzinger and Yevgenya Koch, who were recently featured in the Southern California Contractors Association (SCCA) and United Contractors (UCON) magazines for their exceptional contributions to the construction industry.

In the May/June 2025 issue of SCCA Magazine (pages 26–28), Sarah and Yevgenya were included in a special feature dedicated to "Women in Construction." Notably, Sarah was selected to appear on the cover of the issue, representing the next generation of women shaping the industry's future. The feature highlights the increasing participation and representation of women across all areas of construction - from office and administrative roles to field operations, skilled trades, and executive leadership. It recognizes individuals who are helping to reshape the traditionally male-dominated field through innovation, perseverance, and leadership.

Sarah Scherzinger, a Field Engineer at Sukut, was acknowledged for her role in supporting the delivery of complex public infrastructure projects throughout California. Since beginning her career as an intern at Sukut, she has contributed to significant grading and underground utility work while serving as a mentor and advocate for young women pursuing careers in construction and engineering. Her accomplishments reflect the growing influence of women in field-based roles.

Yevgenya Koch, Sukut's Marketing Manager, brings a multifaceted background that includes experience in project administration, estimating, project management, and marketing. Since rejoining Sukut in 2017, she has led key marketing initiatives that have enhanced the company's brand, increased its industry presence, and supported business development through high-value proposal efforts. Yevgenya is a strong proponent of creativity, collaboration, and professional growth for women in the industry.

In addition to their recognition by SCCA, both Sarah and Yevgenya are featured in the April 2025 issue of UCON Magazine, which celebrates women who are actively shaping the future of construction. Their stories reflect Sukut's ongoing commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace where talent is nurtured and leadership is encouraged at every level.
