Sukut Construction Earns 2025 UCON R.E.A.L. Safety Award

Sukut Construction (Sukut) has earned a 2025 R.E.A.L. Safety Award in the 1,000,000+ Man-Hours category from United Contractors (UCON), a member-driven association representing nearly 800 union-signatory construction firms and industry affiliates throughout California.
Established in 2005, the R.E.A.L. Safety Awards recognize Excellence, Awareness, and Leadership in safety. The annual program honors contractors and individuals who demonstrate exceptional safety leadership, innovation, and measurable performance while protecting their workforce and fostering a culture in which safety is a core value.
UCON received one of the largest applicant pools in the program’s history for the 2025 awards. Applications were reviewed anonymously and evaluated against established criteria, making Sukut’s recognition especially meaningful.
“Safety isn't simply a program—it's a responsibility shared by every leader, every crew, and every person who steps onto a jobsite,” stated Emily Cohen, UCON CEO. “The companies and individuals recognized through the R.E.A.L. Safety Awards demonstrate what is possible when safety becomes part of an organization's culture. Their leadership raises the standard for our entire industry.”
Earning an award in the 1,000,000+ Man-Hours category reflects Sukut’s ability to deliver large, complex projects while maintaining exceptional safety performance. This achievement is supported by strong leadership, thorough planning, comprehensive training, and the dedication of employees throughout the company. Every pre-task plan, safety meeting, field observation, and jobsite decision reinforces a shared culture of accountability in which employees actively look out for one another.
