Caltrans 07-343204 I-405 Slope Repairs at Rinaldi Street Project
Client:
Department of Transportation
Location:
Los Angeles, CA
Description of Project:
Since its original construction, the slopes along Interstate 405 between Rinaldi Street and the interchange with Interstate 5 have eroded significantly, posing a threat to the traveling public's safety. To remedy the hazard, Sukut regraded the slopes, removing the old drainage systems, and nearly 900,000 square feet of a wire mesh anchoring system to protect the slopes from future erosion along both sides of the 405. Sukut also installed new drainage pipe systems and replaced the damaged concrete ditches by constructing a new concrete channel along new and existing benches. At the end of the project, Sukut hydroseeded the newly reinforced slopes.
