Sukut Construction Project Recognized with ASCE Outstanding Flood Management Project Award

May 7, 2025

Sukut Construction’s RMV Tract 19227 Flood and Storm Drain Improvements project has been awarded the Outstanding Flood Management Project Award by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Orange County Branch. This award recognizes the project's innovative approach to flood control and its contribution to enhancing stormwater infrastructure in the Rancho Mission Viejo community.

Completed for RMV Realty, the project involved the construction of five water-quality infiltration basins to improve stormwater management and support groundwater recharge. Sukut’s scope also included extensive unsuitable material removals, mass excavation, and the installation of large-diameter storm drain systems. The team placed over 5,000 cubic yards of reinforced concrete to construct stormwater inlets and outlets with energy dissipaters, as well as concrete structures for the stormwater basins. Notably, the project also included the installation of reinforced concrete pipes measuring up to 144 inches in diameter, underscoring the complexity and scale of the work.

This recognition reflects the dedication and technical excellence of Sukut’s team in delivering resilient and sustainable infrastructure. The company extends its gratitude to ASCE for the honor and acknowledges the collective efforts of those who made this project a success.
