Lake Perris Emergency Release Facility Project

Client:

State of California Department of Water Resources

Location:

Perris, CA

Description of Project:

Furthering state efforts to modernize California’s water infrastructure, this project entails constructing new levees, bridges, and a local drainage system downstream of Perris Dam. In the event of an emergency requiring Lake Perris to be lowered, water would be redirected through these new infrastructure elements into the Perris Valley Flood Channel. This work improves flood protection for nearby homes, businesses, and essential infrastructure, including a local school, Interstate 215, and a water treatment plant. The scope includes a 6,500-foot levee with approximately 240,000 cubic yards of embankment, a 5,500-foot drainage channel with roughly 250,000 cubic yards of excavation and 20,000 cubic yards of RSP, two bridge crossings, a box culvert crossing, utility relocations, and roadway improvements.
