Frank R. Bowerman Landfill Phase VIII-A1 Groundwater Protection Project

Sukut completed over eight million cubic yards of earthwork for cell excavation, landslide remediation, and buttress fill placement. The project included installing 1.8 million square feet of geosynthetic liner, placing 25,000 tons of leachate collection gravel, and 55,000 linear feet of subdrain, leachate collection, and landfill gas piping. Additionally, Sukut was responsible for designing and installing a dewatering system, which involves 28,500 linear feet of horizontal drilling. The project also encompassed various civil improvements to the site’s paving, drainage, and electrical infrastructure.
