Description of Project:

In 1990, Sukut Construction, Inc. built the world-renowned Pelican Hill golf course. In 2005, Sukut Construction, Inc. was asked by The Irvine Company to be part of its consulting team and serve as the general contractor for the challenging world-class Pelican Hill Resort. As a contractor, the company also helped resolve the many design and construction issues related to the aggressive schedule and complex project. Due to the aggressive schedule, Sukut Construction, Inc. was building the project as it was being designed.
The following is a brief description of the work completed:
• Moving 2.4 million yards of dirt and installing five large underground concrete cisterns (1.2  million gallons)
• Installing 70,000 square feet of retaining walls.
• Placing 6,000 lineal feet of storm drain, 6,000 lineal feet of sanitary sewer and water lines, street improvements, a 360 ft. golf cart bridge, and dry utility conduits.
• Constructing the project under a fast-paced design-build delivery approach while plans were still being finalized.
• Self-performing 61% of the work with a workforce of approximately 55 employees onsite at any given time.
