Sukut Construction Executive Michael Crawford to Receive 2027 DIG Award

Michael Crawford, chief executive officer and chairman of the board at Sukut Construction, has been selected to receive the 2027 DIG Award, an annual lifetime achievement honor presented by United Contractors to an industry leader whose career exemplifies dignity, integrity, and generosity.

Mike’s influence reaches far beyond our company, and this recognition reflects the lasting impact he has made on our people and the entire industry," said Eddie Juarez, president of Sukut Construction.
Crawford joined Sukut Construction as an intern in 1980. He became president in 1990, chief executive officer in 1999, and chairman of the board in 2011. During his tenure, the company developed into one of the nation’s leading heavy civil and earthmoving contractors while preserving its commitment to its employees, clients, and business partners.
Crawford’s contributions reach well beyond Sukut. He is a past president of the Southern California Contractors Association and The Beavers. Through his involvement with both organizations, he has supported the advancement of contractors and the continued growth of California’s construction community.

United Contractors established the DIG Award in 1988. A cross-association committee of contractor representatives and past honorees selects one recipient annually. The committee includes representatives from United Contractors, the Southern California Contractors Association, and the Associated General Contractors. Crawford was its unanimous selection for 2027.
The award will be presented Saturday, January 30, 2027, during the DIG Awards at The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel, in Dana Point, California.
