July 9, 2025
Sukut Construction was honored with a Silver-Level Partnering Award at the 25th Annual Caltrans Excellence in Partnering Awards Ceremony for its successful delivery of the I-405 Slope Repairs at Rinaldi Street project. The event, held at 1500 Capitol Avenue in Sacramento, celebrated exceptional teamwork and collaboration on transportation infrastructure projects across California.
Sukut’s Project Manager, Charles Malis, accepted the award on behalf of the company, recognizing the efforts of the entire project team in partnership with Caltrans District 7. The project scope involved complex slope stabilization, drainage improvements, stormwater compliance measures, and aesthetic enhancements, all of which were executed along one of Southern California’s busiest freeway corridors.
The team maintained a strong commitment to safety, quality, communication, and schedule performance throughout the project’s lifecycle. Thanks to a collaborative approach and consistent alignment of goals between Sukut and Caltrans, the project was completed two months ahead of schedule, earning praise for both its technical execution and stakeholder coordination.
The Caltrans Excellence in Partnering Awards acknowledge public and private teams that demonstrate outstanding collaboration, proactive problem-solving, and dedication to delivering transportation improvements that benefit California communities. Sukut is proud to be recognized among this year’s award recipients and remains committed to building strong, transparent partnerships that support successful outcomes for clients and the public.
