Kimmy Phipps Vice President, Private Works
As vice president of private works at Sukut Construction, Kimmy is key in driving the department's strategic growth. She works closely with leadership to pursue new business opportunities, strengthen client relationships, and expand Sukut's presence in the private development market. In addition to supporting business development efforts, Kimmy provides guidance and mentorship to project engineers and managers, fostering technical development and leadership across the team.
Kimmy began her career at Sukut in 2006 as a summer intern. After earning her Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Southern Methodist University, she returned to the company as a Project Engineer, supporting senior managers on large-scale public works projects throughout California. In 2014, she was promoted to project manager and led a diverse portfolio of public and private works jobs, gaining valuable insight into field operations, estimating, and client coordination.
With nearly two decades at Sukut, Kimmy brings a depth of industry knowledge and a collaborative leadership style that supports the continued success and expansion of the private works group.
Outside the office, Kimmy enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, and their dog. She is also a ballet enthusiast who enjoys traveling, collecting wine, and practicing yoga.
