Archie Crippen Excavation Plant Fire

In January 2003, a pile of wood, asphalt, metal, brick, sheetrock and other debris being stored at the Archie Crippen Excavation Plant in Fresno, California, ignited. The pile of debris covered approximately 4.8 acres, and stood as high as a 2-story building in some areas. Sukut Construction, Inc. was invited to act as Fire Control Consultants by the California I.W.M.B. Sukut Construction, Inc. has been able to coordinate efforts with multiple agencies that include the U.S. EPA, the U.S. Coast Guard, the California Department of Forestry, the Fresno County Water Board, the Fresno City and County Fire Departments, the California Office of Emergency Services (O.E.S.) and other Fresno City and County officials. With Sukut’s expertise, the fire was safely extinguished in 23 days.
