Landfills
Through its Landfill project experience, Sukut has:
- Santa Ana-based Sukut Construction, Inc. is the nation’s top landfill contractor, according to the October 2004 issue of Engineering News Record (ENR), one of the nation’s leading engineering contractor publications. (Related Press Release)
- Completed 25 major landfill projects totaling $120 million.
- Installed 40 million square feet of Geosynthetics (Geogrid) and High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) flat and slope liners.
- One of Sukut’s most remarkable landfill accomplishments involved the nation’s longest-burning tire fire (Tracy, Calif.) where more than seven million tires burned for two years, which Sukut extinguished in about two weeks. Sukut then safely disposed of the 50,000 cubic yards of contaminated materials. (Related)
- Installed gas recovery systems, storm water mediation and clay liners.
- Used proprietary technology for soils engineering and earthwork logistics.
- Provided value engineering for multimillion-dollar cost reductions.
- Moved 60 million cubic yards of earth per year.
