SANTA ANA, Calif. – Nov. 23, 2009 -- Sukut Construction Inc. has promoted company veteran Sam Aiello to develop new business in mining construction in the big western mining states including Nevada, Arizona, Utah and Wyoming.
In occupying the newly created position of mining construction manager, Aiello has been promoting Sukut’s expertise in mass grading, infrastructure construction and other earthwork to precious metal miners. The company also will be leasing its heavy equipment, such as rock trucks, excavators, scrapers and bulldozers, for mining projects.
Aiello said Sukut is well-equipped to help mining companies establish new mine sites through such tasks as development of roads, infrastructure and building pads; removal of top layers of earth in preparation for mining trucks to retrieve precious metals; construction of leach pads and the lining of the pads with geo-membrane on which gold is separated from ore; and removal of byproducts.
Aiello said he recently joined the Nevada Mining Association on behalf of Sukut and has begun responding to inquiries about Sukut’s services from mine operators.
Aiello is a 22-year veteran of Sukut, working his way from heavy equipment apprentice to superintendent on projects throughout California. Most recently, he supervised field operations during the opening of Sukut’s Los Angeles division. He lives in Orange County.
